April 17, 2016 event held by Miami guild of the CMA:
Our Miami guild held its second annual Catholic Hippocratic Oath Mass on April 17,2016 in the chapel of Mercy Hospital in Miami. This successful event was inspired by Fr. Scott Francis Binet, co-director Region V of the CMA, and organized by Dr. Felipe E. Vizcarrondo, President of the Miami guild and Vice President Dr. Norman Ruiz Castaneda.
Mass was concelebrated by Fr. Alfred Cioffi, guild chaplain, Dr. Norman Ruiz Castaneda, deacon and Mercy Hospital’s chaplain Fr. Eric Zegeer.
The Catholic Hippocratic Oath was recited by both medical students and physicians. A reception at Mercy Hospital followed Mass, with a good turnout of approximately 40 people. Growth in attendance was noted from last year. Dr. Vizcarrondo reported that interest is building to form a medical student chapter in Miami and that guild membership is anticipated to increase from this wonderful event !
