Southwest Florida Guild: The Philosophy Behind Bioethics

The SW Florida Guild of the Catholic Medical Association is sponsoring a unique short-course in philosophy, primarily designed for physicians. The Philosophy Behind Bioethics, A Catholic Perspective, will be a three-part seminar on 3 Saturday mornings, July 14th, July 28th and August 11th, from 9 AM until noon.

The goal is to backfill our knowledge of the philosophic traditions of the Catholic Faith to gain a better understanding of our bioethical teachings. No prior philosophy education or preparation is needed. Physicians of all Faiths are welcome.

Teacher: Timothy Kearns, Ph.D., is an Adjunct Professor of Philosophy from the University of Connecticut and an Adjunct Professor of Theology at the Diocese of Venice Institute for Catholic Studies and Formation.

Location: The Crowne Plaza in Fort Myers in a conference room reserved for this event.

Breakfast: There will be a continental breakfast buffet each day.

Allied health practitioners will be welcomed as space allows and may register after July 1st.
